Messed up steering box
#11
Find out some info on the Concord guy. I think my problem is in the seals but if it does not quit I will want to get it rebuilt sometime first of the year.
As it stands now I will have another Bronco to toss money at sometime in the next week.

Good call. I am not a proponent of publicly smearing a business without cold hard facts and all attempts to rectify the problem have failed.

The box was clearly assembled with bad parts or assembled incorrectly which means West Texas Off Road is in the wrong no matter what you sent them. Their job is to inspect, repair or replace and assemble a fully functional and reliable box.
I feel this is necessary for two reasons. First, we need to ensure that no one has the same experience again. That means educating potential customers. Secondly, if I owned that business and saw I was being smeared, I would do everything in my power to seek resolution in the public eye. You may very well end up with the $$$ you are seeking. If not, you at least get the good feeling you are helping others.
As much as I would like to try and defend WTOR, I see no reasonable excuse.

You have established WTOR failed to provide a viable product. Now the fact that they refused to refund every cent you invested in shipping and repair to the song of "we are going to take too much of a loss" is reprehensible, disappointing and surprising. Did they offer any other solution perhaps in the form of providing you with another box? If not, I say fry their A$$ on every online outlet available. Provide all the details of your experience so as to curtail any question that you have not made every effort to provide them with an opportunity to rectify the situation.

It's a late model box that they cut off the bottom and weld an over size tube with an oversized Sector shaft bearing. Then they laser cut a plate with the correct bolt pattern. Crazy thing is it was only like a 100 more than the crappy rebuild I had done on my stock box. [Image: a6d04157849c75511d259573ce069f77.jpg][Image: cd9c4d5358feff406f13b3e8cfe7ce6e.jpg]

I can get a close up of the bottom later tonight if you like.
