I figure I would throw this out there for everybody especially since our group works on the trails. Apparently there have been some reports of people cutting a ripping up the guardrail that was installed on ****ey bell and Daniel this past winter.
. So when we are out there and see any illegal activity we need to report them.

People are crazy. State built a new boat ramp near me on the Pee Dee and within a couple of months some idiot built a fire on the wooden floating dock portion. You just cannot fix stupid.
Thanks for posting that up Clay. Wasn't even aware of it. Makes me pretty angry.

My thoughts exactly. Interesting side note friends of ure posted a comment looking for who did it on there facebook page. That one post was shared by 13k people, pretty cool. Now if we could get 13K people to show up to the work days.
This si the kind of ^^^^ that shuts down national park trails. URE is already under the microscope with the archeology dig on Rocky Mtn Loop. I know I'm not at many of the work days, but there has to be some type of publicity move the community can make to stop or at least deter this type of vandalism. I hope they catch em... I don't see how they were able to pull it off without someone seeing them...
I have had many conversations with the FS regarding the serious danger URE is facing with potential closure. We have discussed the need for a public awareness campaign as well as the implementation of an anonymous reporting system that initiates fast and effective action by the FS to ensure perpetrators are dealt with.

Unfortunately, money is the roadblock; as is with most government operations not directly beneficial to the reelection of a politician.

The concern will get very real later this year once the Rocky Mountain Loop report is released and the FS begins looking at closure options. If we lose RML, a series of events will be set into motion for the eventual closure of the last public OHV venue. This is the FS's golden ticket and it is morons, as mentioned in post 1, that hand it to them!

Sorry to bring this up but maybe as we are ridding Telico this next week it should be looked at as a possible meetting location for future meets in case something does happen to URE, I know URE is more centralized for everyone, and if there is another park maybe our Nov run should be at it to check it out so we are prepared if something happens to URE. Might want to consider an August Run for URE if there is another trail park so those that enjoy URE can possibly get one last hoorah if it does close down. Here is to hopping it doesn't but at the same time wanna be prepared if it does.
It won't close that fast. Fortunately, for us, the government is slow in just about every facet.

From all the info we've gotten, it sounds like RML is already considered gone. The FS folks don't answer any questions directly. It is all very political but I think I'd have a better chance at winning the lottery than seeing it reopen.

Only thing we can do is make our voices known and continue to work on what we have out there
So good news apparently the guardrail was not stole or cut down. IT appears it was anchored correctly and fell over, out of site according the crazy Canadian.
