what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 10-23-2014 what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - broncomatt - 10-24-2014 Yea, I'm with bart on that one. Its one thing to get you home but nothing I would use as a final repair. You could have pressure tested the rad and patched it with JB weld for better results. Keep your fingers crossed. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 10-24-2014 broncomatt Wrote:Yea, I'm with bart on that one. If the old guy who has done this for 50 years can't fix it, I certainly have no chance wielding a tube of JB Weld. Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with T2. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - broncomatt - 10-25-2014 For years I saw heater cores blocked up by bars leak that was put in to help with a leak else where. I do carry it in my truck took kit but would only use it if needed. Even then I would probably bypass my heater core. Do you remember in URE when my electric fan broke free and poked a hole in the radiator tube. I pinched it shut and put JB weld on it. Never did get around to getting it fixed. Now that the radiator is out I will find a good shop to have it done. When I was in NC I asked around and found that some of the shops near Mooresville and charlotte were good at fixing that kind of thing. If you paid someone to fix it and it still leaks I would take it back and make them fix it. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - Jbass - 10-26-2014 chuzie Wrote:Bars Leaks seems to have stopped the leaking but the real test will be URE. I ordered my led bulbs from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/social/swf/B00755JMYS/o=ShareProduct/ref=tsm_1_aw_swf_d_sp?vs=1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/social/swf/B00CMMVUOO/o=ShareProduct/ref=tsm_1_aw_swf_d_sp?vs=1 Pretty cheap and great upgrade what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - snipes243 - 10-31-2014 Rock skis done and pulled the atlas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 10-31-2014 Why pull Atlas? But most importantly found a trans mechanic to look at the AOD and he told me if he has to rebuild the entire trans and the torque converter it would be 590, but if torque converter is good it would be 400 something. Seems like fair prices and he is just outside of Spartanburg, SC and is known for his race transmissions what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - Crawdad - 10-31-2014 Yep, get his name and contact number. I've heard of that old timer, he does C4 autos as well. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - wepuckett - 10-31-2014 Got the number and name of shop, it is Cook's racing transmisions, the number is out in the truck atm but I have it. Stopped by his shop and dropped the AOD off today it should be ready some time after the 1st of Dec. He is delaying a little the start of tearing it down in case it needs rebuilt as I told him Dec 1 is when I could take the punch on a rebuild if it needs it. But it would have been at least a week anyways before he started on it and that is only that short because race season is basically over. |
