what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 12-07-2014 The matching carpet and speaker housings is PIMP!!! what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - jdowns67 - 12-08-2014 I made the attachment for the hf bender. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - shon - 12-08-2014 Just got back from Mustang Parts Specialists (MPS auto) in Statham Ga. , where I procured a 98 Explorer 5.0 and a 4R70 . The trans is gone through and internals upgrades to handle "500 hp" . My setup will be stock so I should be good to go. Order confirmed with Advance Adapters for the 4R70 to D20 en -route. I may actually get the drivetrain in and crossmembers built before I have to go back to Cali. My truck set me back a week and then my rear right bottom molar cracked , the extraction has set me back another 3 or 4 days. I kind of over did it on the self medication trying to keep it numb. Root canals are so much better , but when the tooth is split down the middle no saving it I guess. Not sure if I have posted yet but the Chassis from Michigan is in the backyards as we speak. Just need to roll the 69 out and it gets a spot of it's own. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 12-08-2014 So ur gonna change the output shaft on the trans? Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with T2. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - shon - 12-08-2014 Chuzie it has 2 parallel bars running across for the seats and belts to mount to. They are single tabs at the moment. This thing is not sound enough to do any off-roading , I just putt around in it when it is warm enough for me. I will be cutting the rear 2 supports off the cage and just use it as a 4 point. Not perfect I know but far better than the paper thin roll bar that was in it when me and the deer rolled it twice. Technically the deer exited the vehicle after the first roll and left me all alone pushed over between the seats in 2nd gear and throttle pegged. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 12-08-2014 No. I was asking because it will determine what adapter you get. If u get the regular adapter u have to change output shaft. Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with T2. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - shon - 12-08-2014 I spoke with the guys at Mps and when the adapter arrives I will take it up while they are upgrading the 4r70. Statham is anly about 40 minutes from my house here in Ga. They can install it during the re-assembly. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - chuzie - 12-08-2014 Gotcha. Just want to make sure you are covered. The alternative is a zf adapter and shaving the end off the existing shaft. Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with T2. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - shon - 12-08-2014 I think the plug is needed with the AODE output shaft if you are upgrading to the 4r70. The aode has an oiling hole in the shaft that the 4r70 does not use. what have you wrenched on your bronco(s) today? - 72_EB_GUY - 12-09-2014 Haven't wrenched anything today or even this week, but as I was going to get a Christmas tree yesterday my son said he smelled smoke. I looked over and sure enough, smoke in the cab. I wheeled into a parking lot and jumped out and opened the hood to find oil everywhere as well as covering the ground under the bronco. Yesterday was the only day I had to go get a tree so I just had it towed to the house. So long story short tomorrow or the next day I will inevitably be wrenching on the bronco. I just hope its not as bad as I feel it is going to be. |
