Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - scbronco - 12-13-2013 chuzie Wrote:351vs 302= zero difference for efi except intake. I just happen to be in the process of removing my 351 efi lower/bc broncos adapter/mustang efi upper if you are interested in purchasing. If you don't think you can wire eec-iv efi, you have no business tracking down electrical gremlins in the rest of the bronco. Yes, efi is that easy. So, would you say that with the 5.0 engine harness form one of the vendors that the 5.0 EFi would be plug and play electrically? Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - Crawdad - 12-13-2013 "He does exist!" I meant to come by the other day while I was in Sumter, but my meeting was over by 1pm and I figured you were still at work. Hope you are doing ok, how the family and new kiddo?!!! Let's get together soon, there's another EB owner near ya that wants to see that sick horse of yours! Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - chuzie - 12-14-2013 Nothing is plug and play. Some have less adapting than others. The RJM harness has maybe 5 wires on the bronco to splice. I can't comment on other variants but I imagine they are probably the same. Its two wire hookup, one for the fuel pump, and one for the Computer. and I can retain my current $400 distributor I just bought. Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - blazinchuck - 12-16-2013 Get the fast, it will be easier than stock ford efi...ya it cost more up front. But it's all new, not used intakes, accessories, and computer. If you tried to go ford and do it right...buying a bc efi tank, pump, lines, intake adapter, explorer front dress, harness...your gonna have well over $1500. And again it's mostly used stuff etc the harness and tank Sent using my HTC ONE via Tapatalk Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - scbronco - 12-16-2013 that was my thoughts... im researching 3550's right now too. doing some numbers to see if the adapter and a used trans comes out cheap enough to be better than the full kit with the trans from a vendor... Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - chuzie - 12-16-2013 What kit did clay get? Sent from my GS3 on CyanogenMod with tapatalk2 Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - broncosbybart - 12-16-2013 Clay got either the ProJection or PowerJection kit secondhand from Nick M. I have a ProJection on a 74 with a 351w. It is very cold blooded but when warm works well. Clay's kit seems about the same. My Ford EFI runs perfectly all the time (well, when I have enough gas in the tank). I've had some MAF issues with it, but overall am very happy with it. I'd really like to see how good the FAST kit is. If it runs as good as the factory Ford EFI, it'd be a no-brainer. Just an aftermarket ford EFI harness alone is between 5-600. Mustang EFI parts are becoming harder and harder to find. I'm collecting as much of it as I can, when I find it cheap enough. Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - scbronco - 12-17-2013 FAST claims that the system helps with cold starts, so my sincere hope is that they are aware of their product's strengths and weaknesses and are playing them in their marketing with at least a notion of honesty, i.e.- they aren't making a claim that they blatantly suck at. My Bronco doesnt start half bad as it is, as long as its parked on flat ground or pointed downhill. left pointing upwards overnight, all the fuel drains out of the lines back into the tank, and repriming the manual pump takes quite a while. i figure with the enthusiasm of an electric fuel pump, i should be ok. Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street - scbronco - 12-17-2013 So, any of you charleston guys wanna check LKQ for a 3550 for me? don't have to pull it, just let me know if there are anythere? C'mon, i know you guys are adventurous and lookin for a reason to go junkyardin' anyway... |
