Replaced the idiot light type oil pressure sending unit with a gauge type. Looked a bit closer at what is gonna need to be done and where the shifter will be coming thru the floor when I put the 435 in.

Moved the 435 into the shop and made some room to get started on putting it in and found that something in the shifter or trans is froze up. Guess I will pull the shifter tomorrow and see if I can figure out what in binding it. No side to side and no forward movement.

Pull the shift collar off, It probably didn't get lined back up right when I had too take it off to remove the trans.

I need to snap a picture this evening for proof and post it up but to get ya guessing I changed the plugs and bolted on a 100 HP to the lil' 289 Sunday finally getting something done that has been sitting around in my garage since the late '80s....(or make that garages because I've moved 1 time too!) ....Dang, meant to snap a shot of the vintage box before it went away with the recycle stuff today!! Take your best guess!!

I pulled the top off the 435 and figured out how to get the shifter timed with the gears and reinstalled it and it shifts now. The small nylon clips (edited/Shift Fork Inserts) for lack of a better name for them which are located on the 1-2 and 3-4 forks are deteriorated so I am gonna see if I can find some to replace them before putting transmission in. On a side note the gears all look perfect with no signs of chipping.
I did ride a lil short local trail this afternoon and idled thru some mud. When it started getting deep I turned around and came out cause I was alone and have not acquired a winch yet. Think I may order a
Smittybilt this evening.
