Yeah the ur flats in the pic are extras. I was gonna cut them down but that's a pita too.

I boxed the rear frame rails. There s 9 inches now behind the rear spring hangar to utilize for he stretch. Finished product will have 1 " behind the spring hangar. I built a tank with a cavity for the axle to occupy at full stuff. U can see it in the previous posts. Holds 23 gl.

I would have to agree. It took both me and Shawn to get his spare into the back of the cucv.

The rubber run flats are easy to remove. You strap the tire to something then put a strap through the run flat and hook it to the back bumper of something and pull it out. I'll have to find a video of it.

I got the removal. It's putting a whole one in that's gotta be the trick. That's why I'll go PVC when I upgrade the tires later.

Did you already tell us about your plans with the axles? I'm curious what you will be using to turn those heavy wheels. My initial concern is the rotational mass and torsional failure of a stock shaft.

We get ur point mr $5 vocabulary. U think h1s are heavy and would have em on ur truck if I paid for em. Anyway... In reference to your last challenge, suspension phase of the rear stretch is done. :thefinger:

I cut the welds between each hangar first, then built a tic tac toe brace to join all four hangars into one square assembly. Then cut the rest of the welds and slid the whole thing back using ratchet straps for extra hands to hold it on my marks. After tacking everything I measured and it was all within a 16th. It is a little bit further back than I planned a 8 1/8" but who's counting?

I really like the new stance. Next steps are the drive shaft extension, dovetail and then reinstall the modified fender wells and floorpans. Pics in the next post.

Ha! Love you too.

Pics or stretch didn't happen.

U thought about making ur own driveshaft?

Chuzie just likes to think about shafts.

Sounds like you've been busy. Can't wait to see it done!

Oh it happened. And to answer ur question, as funds permit I plan to go 31 spline cromo in the rear with a Detroit and RCV in the front open for the time maybe an ARB as money allows.

Oh and yes I'm modding the current driveshaft. Got some material from essentially off-road. Undecided if I want to sleeve it or completely replace the tube. I have material for either route.
