There is one thing I need for this project that I havent found local. I need a 33" tire for a spare. I would realy like to put 35's, and I probably will. But not right now, even if I did I would probably use a 33" as a spare. I need one too fab up my spare mount.
Dont realy care how much tread it has, as long as it holds air and would be usable.
Thanks!

Matt, that is a cool bronco. I love the cheap builds--- they are more fun to tear up.

I know that I have a 31 spare right now... but won't have a 33 for a little while... Jill's rig will need new sneakers this fall, but they'll definitely work for a spare... My rig will also need 2 new thereafter... so, I'll let you know if I come across a spare 33 or 35... Give me a holler before you buy/trade for one if I don't hit you up before then...

Sorry it's not an immediate solution for ya... but that's about the best I've got right now.

I'm loving the build though! What did you do to mod the carb, a metering tube between the barrels? anything else?

Thanks JayT. I would like to put 35's on it, but will need to lift it 2" to make that work. Right now I'm going to use one of the tires on it (my spare 33"s) to mock up a spare tire mount. It will get a 31" for now since its what I have.
For the carb modifications I used what I saw done to the truck avenger carbs. I used the clear plugs for the float bowls to set the floats, I put a peice of rubber hose between the vents for the float bowls with holes drilled in it for ventilation (same as the metal tube on the truck avenger). The only realy problems I have ever had with a holley carb is fuel sloshing into the engine from the vents for the float bowls. With the floats set nice and low and the vents in this way I should do very well. I had considered going back to the Qjet, but the one I have is already warped at the throttle plate(there big down fall). Plus the cost to rebuild verses the holley this was cheaper.
The stock aircleaner fits, so I'm still working on snorkle ideas. Next is the master cyl and prop vavle. Then the rear mini spool. Still undecided if I'm going to lincoln lock the front or not. Dont have any spares for the front so with 33's I will probably hold off for now.
I need to get it out of my way for now, getting ready to paint liz's stealth. Once that is done were tearing down my barn too put up a metal building. So for now all projects are on hold unless I can get them to my work(still slow so I can work on my own stuff.

I also got this pony back in my shop, since the metal building fell threw I will be doing some brake work and installing the mini spool with these posts in the way.
I did buy the sheet metal peices I needed for it since I now have the title in my hands for this bronco. I hope to have it back together enough to drive it too the spring meetngreet. I also have a bunch of paint left over so I think I may shoot it with a coat of paint too ( just not lime green).
Been slowly acumilating free or junk parts to have as spares (Thanks Chuck:biggthumpupSmile Now I just need some time to work on it.

I have gotten back onto my full size bronco project. The first of the pics are of the carb and intake swap I did a while back, the body work I started in the last few weeks. Next is some sandblasting. Going to strip it down and paint it as well.
I am on looking for a swing away spare tire rack and a winch for it. If anyone happens to see a deal.

Wow Matt!! Lookin good.
Did the grindin and cutting take long?

The budget build - berg bronco - 01-13-2010

Nice what color you thinking of painting it?

The budget build - broncomatt - 01-14-2010

Blue of course! Although I will admit since its the "budget build" I am going to save some more coin by using some left over paint I have. There is 3/4 of a gallon of the first color I painted my honda. Yes that is the bad purple, but I also have 3/4 of a gallon of the blue I finished the honda with. Mixed together I'm hoping for a dark blue with a purple hue to it. Regardless of how it does come out I have next to nothing in the paint so I will use it. Hope to get back to work on it this weekend.
