Speaking of Amsoil, I have never used any of the automotive fluids but I do use their 2 cycle oil religiously. I had a good friend that was a dealer back when I used to mess with dirt bikes and he swore by it. I can honestly say I've never burned a motor up with the fuel mixed 50:1 or 2% oil. Most all manufacturers recommend at least 32:1 or 3%. You never saw any of my junk smoking when it was running or with gummed up of the exhaust. Fav. fluids - Autobot - 05-16-2009 In the bike, Mobil1 4T full synthetic (specially formulated for bikes) and I use it religiously. I change it myself and use K&N filters (got to love the nut on the end). Cars/trucks, I will use whatever is in the bulk barrel at the place I pay to change it. I have found that you pay very little extra if any at all when you pay somebody else to do it. In fact, sometimes I save money. For me, my preferred is Guinness, but I will have been known to try others. Fav. fluids - sparkchaser - 05-16-2009 Have any of you guys ever tried Royal Purple? There is a Mustang shop near here that carries it.I would guess that it's expensive as hell. Specialty oil is prolly good for race cars or trucks with high RPMs but maybe not so much for street cars.cratchhe: Fav. fluids - Autobot - 05-16-2009 Never tried it, but like any other company they have various oils for various applications. Never heard anything bad about it though. |
