I had the Check Engine Light come on about a month ago and of coarse the camshaft sensor was the culprit. No worries because Ford/International warrantied the sensor and replaced it for free. Not bad for a 2K model with 250K miles.

I also need to invest in a larger floor jack. My Craftsman just about puked its guts the last time I rotated my tires. Even lifting one side at a time on the front, it didn't like all the weight. So needing a bigger floor jack has now become my excuse for putting off replacing the ball joints in the front end.

I use a 20-ton bottle jack (house jack) from harbor freight when not at home.

if you want to borrow it, i have a flange and plumbing pipe that I made for installing new vacuum seals on the hubs. done 2 or 3 front ends now. they aren't very much fun. i hope that the ball joints are not original at 250k... i think you have a 4x4, right?

Not sure if they are original or not. My rig ain't quite as fancy as yours, I have manual only hubs. Missed a set of warn hubs back in the summer that would have been a great up grade.

aah, i have never seen a set of the automatic hubs that worked correctly... another great idea someone dreamed up.

Mine worked the first year I had the truck. Then they worked about a month after I cleaned and re-lubed them. Other than that, at least they still work by hand.

Took some branches to the landfill today. More to see what the truck weighed than anything. 7160 with about 1/3 of a tank of fuel. Was having hiccups after getting it out of the shop. Cam position sensor. Was also a code for the antilock brakes. Had the ABS light after coming back from the landfill but it cleared after I shut it off. Cleaned out the bed and washed the top. Mold after sitting for a year under the sappiest tree I've ever seen. Seems to run good now. Idles like it's supposed to. Hasn't died or hiccuped since I changed the sensor. Now to tear down the donor motor that came out of it. Will be interested to see what let go and stopped the show.

November of 07 - small fuel leak in valley
December of 07 and first good freeze - valley full of fuel

November of 2010 - trip to thanks giving and fuel showing up and valley
December of 2010 - first good freeze, diesel under the truck.

Where you getting your Flouros from? Just saw a "nice" puddle in the driveway where the bus was parked last night... And my wife has it right now... GREAT! Who's bright idea was it to have us LSD guys be required to run ULSD?! :banghead:

i just use lucas or diesel kleen every other fill up to lubricate all the seals and o rings. ive seen my sister go through 2 sets of o rings in the last 4 yrs. and she doesnt do anything but add diesel and oil between changes and drive the crap outta hers. knock knock on wood i havent touched mine and had mine for 3 yrs. but the po may have changed them. idk. just my 2 cents..
