jdowns67 Wrote:Yea what SC74 says. By the way, I don't use my vacuum advance. I have tried both and have the best results running like this. Can't remember where I got my 12v power. I think I tapped into an un-used wire on the drivers side near the firewall that was for something related to emissions or the factory carb. If you need more detail, let me know.

Do you just have it plugged off?

Ford D.U.I. Ignition - jdowns67 - 07-22-2012

It's just open at the vacuum canister. Doesn't hurt anything. There's not really any air flowing there. If you run this way just be sure to plug the vacuum connections on the carb.

So tell us how did it turn out?

Ford D.U.I. Ignition - scbronco - 09-06-2012

Awesome!!! Fired up on the first try! its my busy timne of year right now, or i would have some pics and vids for you guys...

Only issues i have, it that i just switched to a Bronco Water pump on my 351, so now my timing pointer is covered up... ive got it timed by ear right now, which is average at best. gotta order the right pointer and some timing tape to get her right... but she purrs none-the-less!!!

Ford D.U.I. Ignition - SC74 - 09-06-2012

The best timing I can get on my bronco with a carb is by ear. I get it as high as I can and get it hot. If it won't re-start, dial it back down. When you get to where it will get hot and re-start that's where I keep it.

Glad to hear the install went well and cranked so easy!
