The stock rad arm bushings are 100 % of the limiting factor to ft flex.If you take the resistance out of the equation (Rad arm bushings compressing) you get true flex. Now all the arms do is keep the ft axle located ft to back as there is no bushings to overcome and the springs do a better job of flexing as they arent fighting the POLY bushings 99 % of us use.Hell a heim on a stock arm will do wonders for flex.

Allright ... It has been some time since I've touched the Bronco ... Really about $500 away from the $500 parts I need to upgrade the 9" ... I have had some rear brake parts sitting and waiting that I have collected over the last few months ... so I went to NAPA and got the wheel cylinders and brake hardware kits and with the new to me backing plates have started to rebuild / upgrade my rear drum brakes to the 76' / 77' bigger drums ... I have new drums and new shoes and have been very slowly putting this together ... Painted the backing plates and drums and removed the old backing plates and should have it all wrapped up this weekend ... kinda tempted to just replace the stock axles and try not "beat" on them so much and get a couple more trips before the 31 spline upgrade. DAMN

Pics come tommorow sorry for being so long winded ...

LOL ... :hysterical:

Only after losing control of my freshly restored EB on it's first drive around the block after a year's worth of body work on all 4 drums did I upgrade. Fortunatly my front bumper was stout enough to total the parked car I hit and only tweak my grill and ruin a front fender.

I know you have big upgrade plans though so can't blame you for saving where you can until you do the axle swap ... I'm with Carl on any progress is good progress.
