School bus tow rig - chuzie - 06-12-2008 I dont think he wants it bad enough. School bus tow rig - cuz1 - 06-13-2008 I want to do the bus thing but am creating a list of items that will make it work. Cutting the thing up is no problem. Body work no problem. Cabinets / kitchen stuff no problem. Wiring and plumbing PROBLEM. Anyone have any expertese in these areas?cratchhe: CW School bus tow rig - broncomatt - 06-13-2008 The electrical thing I can help you with, did you want it to use only 120v or would you want it too be all 12 with a converter. I will have to dig in my parts collection, but I think I still have an extra 12/120v box from our old rv that was turned into a moving van. Cant help with the plumbing thing(those rv setups are complicatedcratchhe but maybe you can get Rhonda's husban David to teach you how. I owe him big time already for teaching me how to take care of mine.:notworthy: Broncomatt School bus tow rig - cuz1 - 06-13-2008 I would like for all the electrical stuff to work while riding down the road, use a generator, and hook to a campground site. Is this possible. I need to study on the subject. School bus tow rig - broncomatt - 06-13-2008 A 12v system is very easy to build, I can put together an easy wiring diagram to start with. You will need the rv type converter(let me check). From there you will need a batt and lots of wire. You can get lights cheap from JCwhitney. You can also have your water on a 12v system. A 3way fridge will be the expensive part(around $700), but would be great for rough camping. Draw up the rooms you plan to have and we can go from there. Broncomatt School bus tow rig - Ogeechee 4x4 - 06-13-2008 what engine does it have? School bus tow rig - cuz1 - 06-13-2008 I have not seen it yet but brother says it is a diesel with turbo. It runs well School bus tow rig - 744x4 - 06-22-2008 My Uncle was the head of the Bus department in Carthage NC for many years and had several buses converted to hauling the race car and several of the crew for many years. They work well and will last along time. The hard part is figuring out your living quarters as the headroom isnt that high compared to regular RV's. School bus tow rig - Timstrk - 06-25-2008 Not a problem. Use actuators and raise the roof about 18 inches when its parked. Slide outs work, why not slide ups? Tim School bus tow rig - Nathan Mattar - 06-30-2008 Ive seen people do it and its sweet, perfect for living hauling and its cheap as anything |
