Tube bending?? - chuzie - 12-31-2008 I need some 2" .100 cut for my windshield support. I only have a partial cage and don't have the $$$ to finish it off to the front of the cab just yet so I figured 2 pieces of tube from the roll bar to the windshield would suffice for now as a temporart fix. I don't know if I'd do that or not cratchhe: Seems like a lot of room for "wiggle". Heck even mine has a lot of wiggle in it mounted to the cage that is tied to the floor. Just my 2 cents though. Tube bending?? - blazinchuck - 12-31-2008 save your self the time and money...just get some small stuff...like 1/2" rod stock or tube, and just make something to push the windshirld out some. dont get no 2" for this fix. Hank even took 2 pieces of 1x2" wood cut a radius in one end (fot the roll bar) and a angles cut (windshield) to wedge it all in ...works pretty good for what it cost and took to make. Tube bending?? - 70EB - 12-31-2008 Can you guys do rock ski/nerf bars for cut off rockers? Maybe a design that can be bolted or welded onto the frame. I know I could use some since I cut my rockers out (rust) and have not invested in a welder yet (or the knowhow) thanks Bill Tube bending?? - SC74 - 12-31-2008 70EB Wrote:Can you guys do rock ski/nerf bars for cut off rockers? I know I could use some since I cut my rockers out (rust) and have not invested in a welder yet (or the knowhow) Yes, we did some skis with some nerf bars on my current bruggy build - check it out in the tech section! Right now mine are just welded to the body - I'll tie them in when we do the cage tie-ins. With an aux. tank the driver side may be tricky getting a tie-in to the frame but I'm sure it can be done.
