Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-07-2011 The guys finished up the foundation with no thanks to the monsoon we had Friday night and Saturday morning. I have found out that a Bobcat and standing water is pretty rough on the landscaping. I'm not sure when the lumber will arrive. And yet again the weather man is calling for rain/snow Wednesday night into Thursday. Man, what a "mell of a hess"....I don't envy you the job of repairing your landscaping after the construction is complete. Hope your quote from the contractor included the grading costs required to clean up that mess!! cratchhe: :banghead: cratchhe: :banghead: Garage Project - broncomania - 02-08-2011 are you building a shop or a sat. night mud bog pit ? lol. brick work looks great. watch out for those ruts. Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-09-2011 Trey and his dad set 3 walls and sheeted one today. Probably could have made a bit more head way if we did not have to recover the skid steer. Sorry I was too busy to get pics of the recovery, but what had happened was is it slid sideways and dropped the left side tires off next to the foundation. We had to be a bit creative as to not knock the wall down. So using my F350 as an anchor, Trey used his 2500 Suburban to tug it up and out of the trench with out tearing down the wall. For now they are leaving the front walls down. It should make setting the trusses a little easier. Which by the way should be delivered Monday. Depending on the weather tonight, they may be back in the morning to finish sheeting. Also my contractor is a full time firefighter with the city, so he gets 2 days to work on projects, then 1 day for the city. That has been working pretty well with the weather usually falling on his days at the fire dept. Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-10-2011 Ready for Trusses!!! They finished sheeting the walls and spread a load of fill around. Things are starting to roll. Garage Project - broncosbybart - 02-11-2011 Looks good! No windows??? Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-12-2011 No, I figure less temptation for the curious riff-raff that abounds every now and then. The trusses were dropped off today and I believe he said it would be Tuesday before he could start setting them. Looks like the forecast for next week is going to be nice! Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-15-2011 The guys set most of the trusses this morning, just a few more to go. Garage Project - bucketobolts - 02-16-2011 Today they finished up the trusses and installed the door header. Then they started on the roof sheeting and delivered the shingles. |
