lowered EB streetrod... - blazinchuck - 02-20-2012 i need some thoughts... im beginning to think this project wont see light, atleast not for a long time. furloughs, no OT, no raises, bla bla bla. ive got some tax money coming that i could buy the mustang II suspension with, but then its just gonna sit for a long time. still need wiring, tranny,C notch, interior, metal work, tires, paint, etc. on the other hand...i have an RV that needs tires(something we can use right now) trust me when i say...i want this lowered EB, but im not the kind to put my wants over the other needs. this mustang II is $1500!! tires are $900 talk to me guys. cuz im thinking bout putting this project on the way back burner til things get way better for me to build a "TOY":banghead: lowered EB streetrod... - broncosbybart - 02-20-2012 my thoughts- can you find the tires used somewhere? i had some i practically gave away a few years back. either way, it probably won't hurt to mothball the street rod until you can free up some spare coin. i don't like having to live paycheck to paycheck. lowered EB streetrod... - blazinchuck - 02-20-2012 tire for the hotrod or RV? cuz im not gonna waste my time with used tires on the RV. i wont go through that chit again lol and certainly not with my family lowered EB streetrod... - broncosbybart - 02-20-2012 ah, i was thinking on the RV. understand where you are coming from with that. lowered EB streetrod... - BucknEB - 02-21-2012 blazinchuck Wrote:tire for the hotrod or RV? cuz im not gonna waste my time with used tires on the RV. i wont go through that chit again lol Definitely tires for the RV and fix the generator wiring that was shredded..:xyxthumbs: "i wont go through that chit again lol" x2:uhoh3: I hate to hear that the project will be stalled for a while, but you and the family will enjoy getting out in the RV. I grew up with grandparents that had one and we took it everywhere, some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around RV'n. lowered EB streetrod... - Bronco Biff - 02-21-2012 my .02....tire up the RV and go play. I bit the bullet and put fresh rubber on the 4door and trailer. I feel much better about it....have gotten some use out of them both and getting away and playing (like Nov URE) helped to clear out the cob webs and put some focus on the stalled projects...... lowered EB streetrod... - broncomatt - 02-22-2012 I would put some sneakers on the RV. I know all to well how much it hurts to have to put a project on hold. But better to be able to enjoy life some and still know you will have the project to come back to. Worse yet to have to part with the project cause you need the money for something else (like I had to with my crew cab). With the RV up and running you can take the 77 out and enjoy it. There is always little things you can work on (like those rockers) with the half cab so do what you can that wont cost you any money. Even if you did buy the front end parts once there in then your back to a stand still again. Besides, what about painting the 77? lowered EB streetrod... - Crawdad - 02-22-2012 Chuck, what size tire do you need? I can't make any promises but I might be able to give you a discount at the same place I got my 33s from. lowered EB streetrod... - ParadisePWoffrD - 02-22-2012 I can honestly say that I havent read all 6 pages, so some of this may have been discussed already... I agree with the folks above... but, is it possible to setup the front with a 2wd beam similar to how a 4wd axle & suspension would be set up. you can typically pick those up super cheap and with a stock style suspension with shorter coils, you could atleast have something rolling to work with... lowered EB streetrod... - blazinchuck - 02-22-2012 ParadisePWoffrD Wrote:I can honestly say that I havent read all 6 pages, so some of this may have been discussed already... anything is possible... back in the days, i was working it all out in my head. grab a 2wd grand cherokee front straight axle beam(basically a D44 complete...minus the 3rd member and chunk.-straight tube with knuckles.) then use cut coils and radius arms. however after really considering this...the radius arms would look weird. would take alot of work...narrow the tube so the wheel tuck under, and end the end...old hard ride technology. my goal is for a sweet looking streetrod...new cool chit. |
