77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 10-13-2015 It's going S L O W. 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 02-01-2016 Picked up a vintage Koenig bumper this past weekend from Nick up in Denver NC. Also picked up some transfer case frame mounts as well. 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 11-27-2016 Taking the next step in my build by dropping off my frame to the powder coater tomorrow afternoon. Going with a UV protected semigloss black. I can't wait to get this going again! 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - chuzie - 11-27-2016 Does your rig spend a lot of time upside down exposed to the sun? Ha! 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 11-27-2016 Well I hope the frame doesn't sit too long in my backyard once I get it back. It's close to xmas and I'm running out of Per Diem! I'm ready to post some real build pics! 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - chuzie - 11-27-2016 Well im certain you took advantage of SDP while downrange and maxed it out with $10k so you can siphon the guaranteed 13% interest rate as quarterly income for the project, right? 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 11-27-2016 Put about $2k in my TSP. Won't see it for another 20 yrs. will probably pay for one semester of college for one of my kids. 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - Crawdad - 11-28-2016 And here are the before pics. Spent Sunday grinding and sanding down the frame. The galvanize process leaves some drip marks and other various deformities. But a 4" grinder with sanding pad, and a Dotco with 1" 120 grit sanding pad worked wonders. And the comments about the John Deere green Chuzie wants to ask, that's where the VIN stamp is. I want the coater to lightly blast this area so that I can read it in the end. Crossing my fingers! 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - broncosbybart - 11-29-2016 No idea what the SDP is but is it a guaranteed 13%? That is awesome if so. I'd be maxing that thing out! 77 LUBR Build in SC, Part 2 - chuzie - 11-29-2016 It is only offered to military in combat zones and it will only compound up to 10k so u have to skim the quarterly return into a different interest bearing account if you really want it to continue to grow. Otherwise, its a nice check to blow on the bronco. |
