Official Recovery Thread - bucketobolts - 09-02-2008 Alright...Who was wheelin' the RV? Official Recovery Thread - Mill Knob - 09-02-2008 I see know jp. What was the rv doing down in the mudcratchhe: Official Recovery Thread - JayT - 09-03-2008 There's one way to get better gas mileage in that RV?! Official Recovery Thread - johnpaulgolf - 09-03-2008 Not wheeling.... Just going thru the creek Yes chained to a tree Official Recovery Thread - chuzie - 09-03-2008 Hard to tell in the picture but was the RV stuck? If that puppy was in deep or framed out you can calculate appx. 3 times the vehicle weight to account for the added resistance of the ground. So basically a 15,000lb RV framed out would require 45,000 of pulling force. Could your winch do that? Sure! But you would need a couple of snatch blocks, one hell of a cable and a good anchor point. Oh, and a good body guy to realign your frame when it is all said and done. Nice pics bro. I bet your Chinese winch works no more!!! Official Recovery Thread - johnpaulgolf - 09-03-2008 It was stuck in the creek... It about pulled the bumper off the RV Official Recovery Thread - broncomatt - 09-03-2008 JP, I think its time you traded that rv in for a 6x6.:hysterical: Atleast it wouldent get worse gas milage.:hysterical::thefinger: Broncomatt Official Recovery Thread - johnpaulgolf - 09-04-2008 That was not my RV that was stuck...it was my buddy's employee. My RV made it through fine the day before!!! Official Recovery Thread - bucketobolts - 09-04-2008 johnpaulgolf Wrote:That was not my RV that was stuck...it was my buddy's employee. At-a-boy! Official Recovery Thread - chuzie - 10-23-2008 Got a distress call about 2:30 this afternoon and shortly after this is what I had pulled from the ruts... Recovered an H3 for an individual who shall remain nameless for the time being. It wasn't too badly burried but the mud was pretty thick and made slicks of the tires on his rig. I had to winch myself 3, yes JP three, times before I even got to the H3 since I took the wrong trail to get to him in the 1st place. My tires were slicks in a matter of seconds as well but my excuse was I had no 4WD. 2WD sucks but the Warn 8274 is the crown jewel of winches and always saves my bacon. I wasn't about to get too close and make it a worse situation for us. |
