No Luck I could not get the center pin out without removing the carrier and then the ring gear from it. There was close to a 1/4 inch of interference between the pin and ring gear. But I did get it apart and got the carrier back in the housing. Tomorrow I will clean the axles and all the brake parts, repack the wheel bearings and finish it up. I hope. Hoping for the best this is the first time I have operated on a differential.

That sucks....I know I've ground some off a tooth to remove center pin...didn't think you would have too with your gears. Good job tho

Got the brakes and hubs put back on this morning. Still need to bleed the fronts and fill with gear lube and put wheels back on. Cleaned all hub components and repacked the bearings while I had them off.

Dwight wheres the pictures? Oh for the record that sucks that duff wanted you ship the boot back. Might check out JB fabs boots, I have one if you want me to bring it on Saturday so u can see it.

I have heard the JBF boots are good so I am gonna plan on getting one for the 435 and the twin stick. Thought I might hold off til after the auto fair and see what they have. Maybe save on shipping. And for the record the brakes are adjusted and bled. Test drive complete and everything sounds and seems good to go. The only difference I could feel with it locked in was it seems to return to center when the steering wheel is released quicker than before.

As for pictures I was doing this job alone and you know how gear oil is. Its gets everywhere and sticks to everything so I left the phone/camera in my pocket. Looking forward to URE Saturday and trying it out on the trails. Different Transmission and Locked front end should drive a little different and be somewhat more trail friendly ya think.

Sounds good!

Should drive like a completely different vehicle on the tricky stuff now.

Went back out and replaced the pressure hose from the pwr steering pump to the gear box, Put a pint of Chuzies reccomended Lucas Power steering pump fluid w/stop leak in it and over filled the pump LOL It really leaked when i drove it and got the fluid warm. Hopefully it will level out soon. and maybe stop leaking.

Duff's puts on the public facade that they are very in tune with customers' needs and are all about service and quality. We have seen numerous instances where the quality of the the products they produce is well below standard. When confronted, they point the finger at everyone but themselves and have no interest in making it right or correcting the problem for future customers. Duff's products, these days, are trash as is their customer service. James Duff would never allow his legacy to become so tarnished.
