Well this past Wednesday I started sandblasting the rear axle and finished it up Friday then Sunday began to paint it. Got the backing plates finished up blasting today and started painting them. Will finish them tomorrow after I pick up another can of paint. Also picked up new seals and bearings for the axles. Hopefully will find a local shop to press the bearrings and seals on and hopefully get the axle put back together in the next couple days so I can get it back under the Bronco.

U running set 20 bearings? If not, seal goes in housing rather than on shaft.

Ok I am gonna admit again totally new to this just picked up bearings at Oriely's for the small bearings, not sure if that is what your talking about, please remember totally new to me all of this and learning as I go. Some things I understand or pick up faster then others.

Small is correct for that year assuming it is original housing. Seals will live in housing. Ur good to go. Make sure the geniuses at the parts store didn't give u tapered bearings. Glad things are coming together.

I will double check that I actually took the axle shaft too the parts store to confirm the bearings they had on hand where not them, and they had to order them in, so should be right but will double check.
I saw the spot your talking about living in the housing, but they still need pressed on correct?
Either way as you said before I need to have the wheel studs pressed in.
Thanks yeah once I get the axle back under I can focus on the replacement engine getting it painted and in. Since I am swapping engine figure I ought to use the aluminum radiator I have only wish it was an automatic radiator rather then for straight drive.

U can tap the seals in with a seal drift or appropriately sized piece of pipe.
Add a thin coat of rtv around OD for good measure.

Well bearings are pressed on now along with the wheel studs that I needed to fix or replace. Made something in machining class to tap in the seals should get that done and axle back together tomorrow and hopefully under the bronco again.
Also picked up the AOD from the trans shop today cost 380 to have rebuilt and a new torque converter. So hopefully after the 1st of the year I will have the engine in and be ready to get trans in and figure out how to move that crossmember back.

What stall converter did you go with?
Couldn't hurt to tack the studs to the back of the flange. It took two "spinner" nightmares for me to learn that lesson; never again!

Not sure he didn't give me a build sheet today I will ask when I take the bronco back there for him to adjust the tv cable in for me so I don't mess up all is wonderful work.
