Finally pulled the cover off my front end to investigate why it was so chatty at URE. All measurements are w/ in limits on the LockRight, all the pins and springs are intact, and nothing is broken or excessively worn. ops tested good in the air too. Next stop is to pull apart the hubs and make sure they are intact as well.

Went ahead and installed a 1/8-27 NPT allen head plug in the front and rear diffs while I was at it. (dont worry all of them are recessed and out of danger.

Gotta track down a shroud to fit my explorer front end considering my 3" of body, mech fan, and huge ron davis radiator and then slap a mercedes electric fan on the front side. After that I am going to go on a cooler spree courtesy of broncomatt's inspirational setup. So time to cool oil, PS, etc.

I also welded the crap out of my pax door window frame since it broke too.

Oh, did I mention I broke all but 1 of my fender flares at URE. Oh well. I don't care. Can't wait to go back.

Hey Broncomatt, I am interested in beefing up the D44 front cover like yours. Guidance please.

Fender flares are easy to fix. You just have to break enough of them to make it worth your while to mix up the fiberglass to fix them. Sand everything and overapply, then sand it back to shape. Wear gloves.

I need the pieces that broke off to make that work though. I think one is on Daniel and the other is somewhere on that hill (not mountain by 1 foot). The 3rd is a crack so I can fix it.

I took a stock cover, used a hole saw to cut out the fill plug area. Then I cut it in half (in the middle of the fill plug area) so it would clear my steering.
Cut some 1/2 square stock in short peices(too fit in between the bolt holes).
Then I bolted it to a stock cover, then welded it together. I'll try and dig some pics up.
