newbie here in ga - GOODOLEBOY84 - 04-29-2009 hey yall, anyways, start off by introducing myself, im Dustin, im a tech at the mercedes dealership in savannah, GA. I just got me a 1966 bronco, it is a u15 code, has the 170 with a d30 and 9inch, with 4:10's, the floor boards are shot and the fenders and rear quarters are cut out:crying: but o well, i was going to do a full restoration, but i have sense changed my mind, i have a set of full widths that im going to put under it and prob going 37's, as far as the engine i dunno yet ive pondered the idea of going v8 or going to a 4.0 out of a 91-94 explorer i dunno yet maybe some advice would be good, i tend to like the skinny pedal also upergrin: anyways i dont live to far from johnpaul, in fact i got to get over to see him one day! newbie here in ga - johnpaulgolf - 04-29-2009 Welcome neighbor !!! newbie here in ga - broncomatt - 04-29-2009 Welcome to the group! We wont hold being near jp against you :hysterical: Your plan sounds good, I would skip the 4.0, not a great motor. If you like to use the skiny pedal, and will be turning high rpms, try a 302 turned into a stroker. Full roller motor. Post up some pics. broncomatt newbie here in ga - SC74 - 04-29-2009 Welcome! Let's see some pics of that bronco. Floor pans are easy to patch if it's going to be a trail rig. I don't recommend the 4.0 either - go 5.0 or if you're up for the challenge do the 4.6 DOHC. newbie here in ga - broncomania - 04-29-2009 welcome. newbie here in ga - 66stocker - 04-29-2009 Welcome to CB4X4! Post up some pics ... I'm always on the lookout for original '66 goodies. If there is something I need and you don't want, I might help fund your build a little! Ask questions ... lots of helpful Bronco experts here. newbie here in ga - bound4dixie - 04-30-2009 Welcome to the group! newbie here in ga - supertoyota88 - 04-30-2009 welcome their buddy newbie here in ga - trkbilder - 04-30-2009 The 4.0 is not an option if you like to kick the skinny pedal!! Go 302 or as Broncomatt said, stroke it and roller it!! Welcome to the gang!! P.S. If you're going over to J.P.'s, take a friend!! LOL :xyxthumbs: newbie here in ga - GOODOLEBOY84 - 04-30-2009 thanks yall, im probably gonna go with a 302, my next dialema is to decide to go auto or manual, i have a c4/c5 combo but i dont have the tail shaft or adapter for the d20 if i go manual i need a 2wd np435, and adapter so i dunno yet i like to go rock crawling esp. river rock, like i say i dunno yet still up in the air.cratchhe: |
