:xyxthumbs:I can only imagine.I have always worked with contractors, which definatly has its headaches, but for awhile I worked an extra job at Advance Auto Parts in a Rural town. Most people were ok but there was always some that you could not satisfy, and wanted to bitch about everything.Hang in there we are fortunate right now=employed

I built Freightliner trucks for 17 years but am now retired. Looking for a part time job but can't find one. there's nothing out there so to be employed right now is a blessing. :xyxthumbs:

Your right Clint. I've worked at the truck factory for 13 years. This is my last week. Getting the laid off the 8th. Even being skilled labor there are no jobs paying 50% of my pay even with out benefits.

With everything as slow as is it is right now,it's making me just deal with whatever comes up at work.We have been lucky so far and kept everybody.Last summer we had everybody scheduled ahead 3-4 weeks but now its less than a week for most and day to day for some.Luckily we have some maintenance for a school system that usually takes a couple of guys a couple of months. This year it probably wont take a month with three times as many guys. After that who knows.Hopefully you will be able to pick something up.

Yea, I guess I retired at the right time. My accident was a blessing in disguise. Sorry to hear about your lay off, I heard that Mt Holly is ramping back up. They have gone to 5 units per day this week and will go up 1 unit per week 'til they need to start calling people back. Then it's wait and see. :xyxthumbs:

Things have gotten interesting here in wilkes too, our genral manager is leaving, he is the 2'nd one in 3 years, if he takes the service manager with him it would be the 5th one in 3 years. Too complicate things more, Nissan may pull the whole dealership. That would mean they close our doors untill further notice.
As the suds settle in our beer, these are the days of our lives....

I had heard this also. MTH laid off many people with 25-30 years of service with the company. Also in the rumor mill is that there is a military contract to build an armored truck. MTH and CLE are the only two truck factories left in the US. So hopefully one of us will get the business.

Read in the newspaper last week where Salisbury's oldest car dealer, Salisbury Motor Co.(80 or 90 yrs old I think), has sold all its new car assets to Team Chevrolet. So now there is one GM dealer in town that sells all the brands for now. Sometimes change is sad.
