who wants a nice wheeler on the cheap?? - dawgfan - 05-05-2009

Just putting this out, long shot but what the hell. I'm tryin to purchase a 93 wheeler from a guy on FSB. 5.0, auto, exo,1 tons etc... u get the idea. He is practically giving it away, but I have to have it shipped across country which isn't cheap! All I plan to use are the axles, and I will in turn swap my entire axles/suspension/lift onto it. I was just gonna try to sell it and make back some of my money. But if anybody is in the market for a good wheeler, they could get e hell of a deal, and it would be easier to convince the wifey if someone where going in on it with me. You would essentially get a running driving caged wheeler with 8.8,4.56's, Aussie and front 4.56, TrueTrac, and long arm 6" lift, w brand new brakes front to back and brand new driveshafts, 5- 37/12.50/17 MTR's. It's an ex-daily driver and is in surprisingly good shape.
Haven't worked out all the details, but we would be talking somewhere in the $1500-$2000 ballpark(your part) depending on shipping costs. And of course you'd need to be semi-local so we could work out all the final exchange arrangements. Anyone interested, just PM me and I'll answer any questions

You need to get up with Dean, Detowman. He used to have a connection for a guy that hauled cars cross country really reasonable. I believe he used this guy to deliver his Fullsize from the westcoast.

I could probably get hold of a truck and trailer to tow it if I was in the states, but tbh by the time you paid for fuel to drive a truck across country and then BACK with a fullsize Bronco on the back, it wouldn't be worth it imo.

Whats so special about the axle on that truck that would make it impossible for you to find one local? Surely spending even $100-200 more for a local axle would be worth it even just to avoid all the trouble you'd need to go to.

I figure you'd spend 3-400 on fuel driving and towing that thing, plus all the trouble of swapping the drivetrains. I'd say either get someone to do it for ye or find an axle local! :xyxthumbs:

You've probably already thought of that stuff though, so maybe i'm just spouting crap! :hysterical:

I actually found a shipping company(2 actually) who will pick it up and ship it to my doorstep for about $600...1300 miles! I guess we really are in a recession! And the reason I would go through the trouble is because its a good rig, and the axles are built exactly the way I want. I have been shopping locally for a set for a while, but to build these would cost me around $4G's. For that I could buy this rig, swap my parts back to it since all my stuff prolly has about 1200 miles total on it, and then sell the other rig to make some of my money back. Kinda having 2nd thoughts now though, I found a couple deals on some front 60's, so I may pass on it.

I won't be buying this one now, just picked up my donor 88 F350 yesterday, D-60KP/10.25/351. So my axle search is over, but someone should still pick up that FSB, he will take $2000 for it. I found some crazy cheap shippers, PM me if you want their contact info.
