New Member with new project - wr thompkins - 01-04-2010 I am new to this site. I have a 75 stock Bronco w/95k miles. It was bought new by a good friend of mines father who passed away.It sat in a barn for the last 15 years I tried to buy it for 10 years and finally gave up. Last year he called me and gave it to me for Christmas.I am restoring it to original condition, and plan to keep it and later give it to my son. I have restored several cars ,Broncos, jeep scramblers and scouts and this one will probably be my last one. I hope to meet some local people with an interest in Broncos and restoration. I am looking for some parts and information and hope to make a few friends in the process. I have always worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic, machinist and body repairman since the first early Bronco came out in 1966 . I have taught Precision Metalworking at a Career center for the past 22 years and restored classic cars and motorcycles as a hobby. I hope some of my experience will be usefull to some of you and will be glad to share what I have learned. Thanks WR Thompkins New Member with new project - SC74 - 01-04-2010 Sounds like you've got a heck of a lot of experience! Can't beat going back original either - they are few and far between. Are the rear fenders cut on it? Let's see some pictures of what you've got to start with. Welcome to the site! Robert New Member with new project - blazinchuck - 01-04-2010 sounds like a well thought out plan, we wish you a lot of luck. thanks for joining and like Robert said...post pics whenever you get a chance. I will move this thread to its proper location for you, Chuck New Member with new project - 66stocker - 01-04-2010 Welcome WR and thanks for offering your experience. Please don't be shy about chiming in. I too am working through a stock restoration. Please post some pictures ... I would like to see what you have Bill New Member with new project - wr thompkins - 01-04-2010 Thanks for the great reception, I will post some pics of the bronco and some other projects I have finished . The 75 is an uncut. 302 3 speed . This is the 5th bronco I have had and I think I am going to enjoy making it al nice daily driver. I have had 2 that I built too nice to enjoy. I have replaced all the floorboards and put in a 2 1n body and 1 in spring lift. This bronco was stored in a barn with a $2.00 bag of fertilizer left in the back, hince new floor. I plated it all with 11 ga. flatplate and put all new cross members . I have replaced the radiator and all the belts, hoses fuel pump and lines and the complete brake system including lines. I will cover the seets to original and build as rollbar for safety and to support the bikini top . I am thinking about building a metal skin 1/2 top.I need a driver inner door panel, some nice narrow 16 in wheels and a bikini top or 1/2 top if anyone has them Thanks again WRT New Member with new project - bucketobolts - 01-05-2010 Sounds like a great project with the special meaning.
