Got a buddy looking at an 03 Explorer (2wd)... I can't think of anything "wrong" or to "look out for", but thought I'd see if anyone here remembers anything. I'm going tomorrow to look at it, but by no means am I an explorer guru.
Were there some transmission issues in that era Explorer? Anything else?

I think you are right on the transmissions.Mostly a cost issue,rebuild costs more than the exploder is worth.

watch out for the recalls they had on them...they were catching on fire cuz of a short in the column with cruise control..thats one thing that sticks out in my mind

that must be why my buddy called his an EXPLODER :hysterical:
