MPGs - bone collector - 04-18-2010 Just wandering if anyone has done anything that had a noticable increase in their mpgs because mine is killin me cratchhe: :popc1: MPGs - Ricky B - 04-19-2010 Yup, I did what is sometimes called elsewhere the '6 Liter Tune-Up', which costs about $130.00 (depending on your shopping skills) and it should kick your mileage up by at least 12---16%. It works great on the 302's & 351's. Basically it entails new Autolite 25's gapped at .055", a high quality dizzy cap and rotor ( I used Accel), 9mm plug wires (I used FMS from Summit) and a MSD #8227 coil. You install all of these components, and THEN bump up your base timing from 10 degrees BTDC to about 13.5 degress BTDC---with the SPoUt connector removed. On my '87 with a new crate 302 I went from 10/14 to about 12/17 mpgs. If you need more help or info, feel free to ask away....... Ricky MPGs - UTfball68 - 04-20-2010 The 6 liter Tune Up: http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63592 MPGs - Ricky B - 04-20-2010 UTfball68 Wrote:The 6 liter Tune Up: Egg-zackly.
