PCV Grommet 1996 5.8L - jrshepherd - 01-03-2011

Im having a lot of trouble removing the PCV grommet on my 1996 5.8L. I can't see the round elbow, and I can't twist it out. Does anyone know how to remove the grommet? Thanks again:banghead:

it should just twist out once you remove the PCV valve...heres a pic that might help with what you can see

also a flat screw driver can be pretty handy getting under the outside lip, then lift up and twist out,HTH

I thought so, but the pcv valve sit's up near the firewall. There is the grommet, elbow (Round hard plastic), house to PCV and then the PCV to intake manfold. Everything is out except the grommett and round elbow (hard plastic). Thanks for the pic?

well, if your gonna replace it anyway...just take a razor blade to trim the grommet down some or slice it a little...so it will release the elbow and then the grommet can come out

I wish I could. It can't be cut with a razor blade. The elbow part is round plastic not rubber. I think it is only on the 5.8L. thanks!
