Trans Temp Sensor / Pan - SC74 - 06-29-2011

I need a new pan for my C-4. The previous owner's bondo work on the pan is steady leaking and it's time to upgrade. I was going to get a little deeper pan like on Jessica's blue bronco - maybe an extra quart capacity - finned alum. I want to know that I can add a trans temp gauge down the road but all of the descriptions on Summit say that the temp gauge bung is not included. I can't find one that is. Do you just add a fitting between the filler and pan with a tee for the gauge sending unit?

back when FBG was new'ish looking...I installed a deeper TCI pan(maybe from Summit), I had to drill the hole for the dip stick tube, then install a bulkhead fitting for the tube. If I recall, there was a machined spot for adding a temp gauge...but that meant you would have to drill and tap it for 1/8NPT. the pan temp location would look cleaner, but i think the temp for fluid going to the rad would the be the hottest...I know summit sells a inline "T" for plumbing a temp gauge between the trans and rad.

On the race rig, I drilled and tapped the pan for the sender. Used a 1/8" NPT tap. Aaron got the pan for me. He'd know where to get one. It had dimples in it all the way around it for drilling locations.

This one made by BTE. Same kind I believe Aaron gets. It's about the best price going and has the dimples in it to drill for the temp sensors.
