My 76 LUBR Build in SC - Crawdad - 10-26-2011

On Monday, the day before my 38th BD, I had an epiphany or as my dad would say, a "Brain Fart"! I decided to post up my tires and wheels on CB4x4. The tires were an impulse buy and I really love them but its just not practical for my use. Right now I think a buddy is interested in them, but until cash is in hand its hard to move to the next step.

So what is the next step??? I need to replace the 37s with either 33-34s that are narrow enuff to fit under the fender wells. I like the hubcap look but do they make them for 16" rims? or will I have to stick with 15"s? A 3.5 - 4" BS is needed for any rim I get. I want some knobby tires but I don't think I will achieve that look with smaller KM2s, so some swampers I may entertain. I will replace all my fenders with new ones of course.

I do have a goal, some pics I have saved over the last few months. Here is what inspires me to waste my money on! The blue one on the beach is my fav!

How about this one? Although you may have to sell your house and live in the truck for the price of this thing.Confusedupergrin:

All jokes aside, Right On! Good luck with your build. I've been showing pictures of lubers to my wife. "Here honey look at this one, don't you love it?" I'm just trying to plant the seed, and hopefully that seed will turn into a nice stocker roadster.Confusedupergrin::xyxthumbs:

I'll be watching this one.:popc1:

You are right, but $90K for a look that still doesn't turn me on!!! Now the blue EB on the beach makes me smile!Confusedupergrin:

The setup i ran had a 255/85/16 on a 16x7 wheel with 3 1/2 BS. Tucked awesome and is as big and as wide as you can go and not lift it to the moon. That was on a 3 1/2in lift. I did roll the inner fender in the rear and i did have the trim the openings some to have room to stuff. Good Luck, I wish i had something to put 37s on!

Welcome to the LUBR club Crawdad! I thought something might be up when I saw your tires for sale the other day Confusedupergrin: I'll see if I can dig up a few other LUBR pics that I love to add some fuel to the fire! Thanks for putting mine up with those other ones...thats some nice company to be in!

Have you seen the Ultimate Luber Build on classic?

He's running some Stockton 16" steel wheels with Allied beadlocks, baby moon hubcups and 255/85/16 KM2's. It looks Confusedmokin:

in regard to the wheels/tires, and your new gears, i would strongly consider the 34" LTB from Interco. i know you dont plan on a lot of offroad, but that tire has a classic look, and will fit your lubr wishes and gearing selection well, especially with that 351... wheels, go ahead and throw thos 16 in with the 37's when you give them to me, and buy yourself some classic 15 and hubbies to go with the 34's... you'll thank me for taking all of it off your hands i swear! :thefinger::thefinger::thefinger: cant wait to see you get started on this!:popc1:

Damn NCSU!!!! Ur killin! Thats color I want too, actually I plan to go Peppered White (scared to say its found on Mini Cooper). Where did you get your floor panels from? Did they fit well?

Scbronco, yeah the 33 or 34s are singing to me. I found Thornbirds in a 33x11.5 on 15s. Those are knobby enuff for me! I really want the stock hubcap look too, just wish I could do it on 16s. I've looked at the LTBs, 34s are looking nice. But with my gears I "HOPE" to do what Chuck has done by going NV 3550. My C4 should hold up for a while. I'll need to look at getting stck rims, but what size were stock? I may just go with a 15"x7" w/ 3.5 BS.
