Anyone have this? Looks like a great price for an actual digital OBD-I scanner. Reviews look good on it too.

what do you plan to use it on? dont think it would work on our efi swaps...they are pre-OBD1 i think

huh... didn't know that. I also searched classic and saw where you used the stock "brake" light as your "flash" light. I have that same light as my "check engine" light. Could I do the same as you then and use that light as both check engine and the flasher light for codes?

Keith has a OBD-I scanner that flashes lights, but he was using the mustang harness. RJM would be the same I was hoping.

If you have a check engine light on the truck (which you do), you can run codes w/out a scanner. I am not an EFI guru, but in talking w/Broncolou at the last ECORS race, it sounds like there is a lot that you can do with the stock system. if you want to see voltage ranges for sensors and all that, you'd need an expensive scanner.

that one there looks like a waste of money, imho.

chuzie and i both have our factory "brake light" set up as a "check engine" light. it comes on a second when i crank it up...to show its working. i also have a ground wire set up near the test ports, so if a light came on...i can plug the ground in and start counting the lights.

as for voltage on each sensor...that requires a needle or similar to probe the correct wire for checking

Thanks - i'll be checking that site. How do you re-set it Chuck, or is that on the site too probably?

Equus 3145 OBD-I Scanner - blazinchuck - 12-04-2011

you have to disconnect the neg on the battery for 30-60 sec for a hard reset.

we get all of our codes from that site to check out. KOER(key on/engine running) KOEO(key on/engine off) etc...

I have the box on Ryan's harness and there are two other wires - one labeled manual trans and one labeled auto trans. Are those the "STI" Self Test Inputs depending on what tranny you are running? Right now I have the auto plugged into another wire - so I disconnect that and ground it?
