back to work - broncomatt - 03-08-2012 Well after much thought (and looking at my piggy bank) I have given up on indipendent shops and gone back to work at a dealership. As some of you know I got laidoff back in june, then we moved to Fla. I have bounced around trying to find a small shop that would be a good place to lay low at. But there just not making any money. I even toyed with opening up my own place with the help of another member from classic. He is not in a place to do that yet and the economy is too risky to try that now. So I gave in and went back to the dealerships, but not at a Nissan dealer. Surprisingly there are few openings at the nissan stores, but I found a good company to work for. BMW! Yep, I wont get any use out of my master certs from nissan or ASE (GTR either). But there pushing me along to get certifide threw BMW so its ok. Great company (paid vacation, sick days, ect) and the big one for me... only once a mounth on saterdays. So if anyone needs BMW help, come on by the Ocala BMW dealer and say Hey! back to work - SC74 - 03-08-2012 Great to hear the good news. BMW has been a huge impact on our economy in the upstate SC with the Greer plant. They fuel so many local shops, construction, thousands of employees, etc. The people I know that work in the plan enjoy it and are treated very well. Congrats and good luck! back to work - firefighter2134 - 03-08-2012 thats great news matt. and the bmw plant in greer is getting ready to expand..my neighbor is a superintendant for turner construction is starting there monday back to work - broncosbybart - 03-08-2012 Thanks for the update. If you like fishing go to Rodman Resevoir, gnats are terrible but Bass fishing is excellent. DirtyWhiteboy back to work - broncomatt - 03-09-2012 Thanks guys, the dealership is about 45-50 min from our place(40mi). We live on a lake with some great fishing, just havent had the time to do much. I"m realy looking forward to a steady income again. Perhaps then I can dig out of debt and buy more bronco parts!! back to work - chuzie - 03-09-2012 Broncos and debt are synonymous! We all chase unobtainable pipe dreams and are too awestruck to realize the futility of our efforts. back to work - broncosbybart - 03-10-2012 you driving the roadster 40 miles each way??? that is a commute for sure! |
