Anyone tell me why my new sending unit and fuel selector switch don't read right on my gauge?

gas gauge - bucketobolts - 01-29-2008

Is it not reading correctly, all the way full, all the way empty, or not switching tanks?

that could just be an adjustment. It might even stay on empty for a long time the way it sits right now. I would guess you need to make a small bend with the float shaft or rotate the sender if possible. Let us know,Chuck

Thanks i'll try that .

Do the new units still utilize that white capacitor dealywhopper on the back of the instrument gauge to smooth the readings? It has been a while since i have thought about bronco electrics but i seem to recall it having something to do with bum readings on the cluster.

yes- i am crazy.

Mine had the same problem but the other way. It will show 1/4 of tank and it was slam empty. It was an adjustment to the float that fixed that issue.
