Lil Red Riding Hood Build - Broncitis - 12-22-2015 Lil Red Riding Hood is the 74 Bronco I owned in the 80s for close to 4 years and just bought back a month or so ago. My plans for it are to make it a decent road truck with some light hunting abilities also. I have some 32 inch tires on it now and will likely stay with them for now. Bart has a 302 which is coming out of Sharons Bronco which I plan to buy from him the first of the year. I am looking for a 5 speed to replace the 3 speed with I would entertain the idea of a 435 if I find one at a good price before I find a 5 speed. . I will rebuild the drum brakes with thoughts of going to disc front as money allows. The body is fairly rust free with only minimal rust in the front floor areas. I will need to build or buy a roll bar and am leaning toward a family style kit. I will need to find a fuel tank either front or rear to replace the one which have been sitting in the weather with no cap on it. (The front is not in it). If I find stock before cash comes available for a aftermarket I will use it if not will buy new. Does anyone have stock tanks laying around in your way? Lil Red Riding Hood Build - Broncitis - 12-22-2015 Thinking at the time I will buy a soft top for it. Also I need to find a stock limited slip rear diffential. The rear in it now is open and I'd like to at least have limited slip back there. The gears in it now are 350 and will remain for the time being. I figure if I can get limited slip back there I will be able to go anywhere Chuzie can LOL. Lots of memories were made in it. Sent from my NEC-NE-201A1A using Tapatalk Lil Red Riding Hood Build - wepuckett - 12-22-2015 I have like 4 or 5 stock tanks just sitting in the corner, also have a 13 gal poly I got from bart a while back I might or might not ever use I would be willing to let go for what i got into it, maybe we should look at planing another meet and greet Lil Red Riding Hood Build - Broncitis - 03-01-2016 So far i have got the new rear quarters for this one. I just ordered a 3.5 in Suspension lift from Duff as well as a 2 inch body lift. Next up will be new front fenders and the other necessaries for the lift( Brake lines, Steering shaft extension, Etc...) Lil Red Riding Hood Build - broncosbybart - 03-01-2016 Sounds like a good list of parts. What color do you plan on using? Are you going back to uncut? Lil Red Riding Hood Build - Broncitis - 03-02-2016 Yes on the uncut at least long enough to see how I like it. I am thinking seriously about going back with the original Red. I haven't seen any red ones around lately. Also thinking about a soft top in a tan color. The repair panel for the tailgate came in today and I think I will order new front fenders from Dennis Carpenter tomorrow. Still trying to decide on fiberglass induction style hood or metal stock type. A shaker would be super slick on it but wow they want real money for them. Lil Red Riding Hood Build - snipes243 - 03-02-2016 sounds like a plan dwight Lil Red Riding Hood Build - Broncitis - 03-02-2016 The fenders for the ol gal are ordered. I sure am gonna miss the Lil S 10 Lo Rider I traded for the body and paint work. |
