Duralast + Optima - chuzie - 04-09-2008

So I took the Pilot to Autozone today to get the battery tested and it was bad, of course. I told them I planned on replacing it with an optima red top and they suggested I consider the duralast red top instead.

The optima will be $180 and the duralast $75. The amp ratings are comparable so the question is.... can anyone vouche for the duralast in a non heavy duty vehicle like the Honda Pilot. Is there any reason for me to get the optima over the other? The warranty is the same too.

Just wondering.

Thx.

Chuzie, why put a heavy duty batt(as Optima) in the pilot? For one the duralast is not the sealed bat(or is it?) cant be mounted in any position. you wont be winching with it,offroading, heavy light use, and I dont see a need for it personally. save the money, for cool gear on the bronco when ya get home(really home)

I agree w/ chuck. Save your money for the bronco. I'm sure you have lots of things you'd like to do to it already.

I think you all are right. The site JP gave me has really great prices on optima batteries so I know I will be ordering more from them in the future but as for the Pilot I think I will go ahead with the Duralast or eq.

Thx.
