I run amsteel blue on my 4 wheeler and i really like it!! (I know that's not the responce you're looking for...) It's great being able to grab the rope to unspool without slicing my hands open on freyed cable. The only drawback that i've come across is that (obviously) you have to be mindful of where you run the cable as if rubs a rock or other hard substance it'll frey and break. But if it does break, you can always use a small screwdriver (or throw an awl in your toolbox) and re-braid the hook onto the end of your shorter cable....

I have heard good and bad things about it. Personally, I plan to stick with steel. It is a pain in the butt, gets all wraped on itself and the freyed strands will tear your hand up but it has never let me down when I needed it.

if my wheeling style didn't include rocks...I would consider it. But, you will never be able to keep the sleeve on the rock when winching. The rope comes with a sleeve for those sharp edges on rocks...its only about 5-7' long. I too will stick with wire rope,Chuck

You could always use a strap or one of those tree hugger dealie whoppers.

I run 100" on my Mile Marker 9K. It is very light weight. I've had no problems with it fraying. Though it does fade when left out in the sun light over time.

I'm sticking with steel untill I'm convinced other wise. And just FYI I don't grab the cable I grab the hook or strap. Learned this when I was just a kid helping my dad run a wrecker.

If it ain't broke why fix it? Good choice. I would prefer to see this synthetic stuff working in person first.
