Including all the steel, cutoff wheels, gatorade, & paint...I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not Confused

Decided to build a simple rear bumper. Ordered 72" of 6" channel .25" wall from http://www.metaldepot.com. Steel was delivered a week after i ordered it, well packaged.

Marked the centerline and marked where the mounts should go. I reused the aftermarket mounts from the stock bumper.

I did cut them to a new length, tho. In retrospect, they're still too long.

Welded them into place. I sooo need more practice with the welder.

Mocked it into place. Yes, i know it's crooked.

I went back and added a couple gussets to the mounts. You can kinda see them in this pic...after i started painting it all.

I don't really like how far it sticks out from the body, but the dislike isn't strong enough to tear it all apart and start over... Ok, maybe it is but I'll stick with it for a while. Maybe build another when it's not 100* outside.

I want D rings, but don't trust my welding abilities. Figured I could add them later.

The motorcycle is on the other side of the shop...with carb troubles. I'll see if i can find a picture of it.

Sweet i needed to know about that site metal depot thats great indeed have to check it out. As for the bumper well at least you didn't run off in a ditch and destroy it. Confused

lookin good . it doesnt look like its too far out. could be used for a step sometime if you have to climb in the back.

It is perfect. Any closer and you would end up with body damage. You have to leave room for flex.
Not that you would ever catch it on anything, but hey you could be in a parking lot or something and someone else hits you.
You never know.
