work weekend

I worked on a bunch of stuff this weekend. Got liz's car closer to being ready, fixed a bunch of stuff on my eb. Pass window track, inside door latch, exhast leak, topped off fluids, pulled a shim out of my D20 output assembly to tighten it up. Other than lots of rust, and in dire need of an overhaul I'm ready to go. :toothy12:
I spent sun afternoon building another trailer. I had one years ago, it was a ford ranger cut down into a trailer. This one is a mazda 2wd truck that I cut under the cab, installed an xterra hitch, and square stock for the toung.
I can shorten the toung by pulling the pin and sliding it in. I wanted it small to tow behind my eb, especaily off road. I still need to wire the lights, put a spare on it and get the bumper off. I'll try and get some pics tonight.
I even have and extra 9" from a full size I think will find its way under the trailer. :rubeyes:

Now I see why you cant finish Liz's car. You got tooooo many other projects.

Funny, I always thought I had the right amount of projects. Just not enough money or time to finish them.:hysterical:
Some days its hard to know which thing to start working on, atleast this is roadworthy and out of my way. Liz's car is waiting on parts again, so after our meet I can start on my crew cab again, or the body for my eb, or......

I'm with you bud. I've had a Motocraft carb cleaned and on the bench under a rag since Jan for Brutus. Just can't seem to take the time to sit down and put it together. And I don't even want to start with my Bronco:rubeyes:. Though I have been chasing a pesky P0422 code on my wife's Passat and have finally found the culprit. Now if I can just get her to park it long enough to fix it:hysterical:.

Did the catalyst actuly fail? You could let her take your mustang :rubeyes:
How's your pu driving these days? Glad to see your going to make the meet n greet.

Ok, here is some pics of my trailer. I'll still have to do some rewiring, and I havent decided if I want to pull the fuel tank or rig it up as an aux tank. Confusedcratchhe:
I may even stick that spare full size 9" under it, when I have time :hysterical:
Still need to drill the rest of the holes in the toung, but for now its usable.

It sets both a P0422 & P0432. First off I was advised by the VW gurus to change both #2 O2 sensors since it has over 100K on it. So $330 later I still have the same codes. The O2's both behave alike, when they warm up the voltage drops to around .060-.100V. Both #1 O2's are behaving correctly and I have no LT or ST fuel trim corrections. This suggests the engine is running correctly and not in a lean condition. I must be getting fresh air in both of the exhaust pipes between the manifolds and cats. The previous owner had replaced the flex pipes just before the cats. Whoever welded them on couldn't reach about 1" on the top side. I installed a submarine patch on one side yesterday evening and reset the codes. I'm not to confident though. When I looked at the data, the O2's both dropped to a low voltage as soon as they warmed up.

I've also tried the anti-fouler modification to the O2's without any change. I'm begining to wonder if the guts have been knocked out of the cats. But I've owned and drove the car for 6 months before the light came on.Confusedcratchhe:

"Brutus" is driving good. I finally replaced the sector shaft seal to stop my PS leak. Now to put my spare carb together and fix the electric choke.

No,the tongue slides in and out so I can shorten or lethen depending on where I want to take it. All the weight is centered over the axle. I probably made it longer than it needed. Its built with the idea that I can take it in the woods.
