DirecTV vs TWC
#1
Admittedly, I'm a cableTV holdout.. But TWC has really been pissin in my cornflakes lately and I'm looking for alternatives... The last time I checked, satellite had a REALLY slow response time, but great picture... It also looks like DirecTV has won the market share, in my area, so I'm left with 2 choices... DirecTV or Time Warner Cable... I love my satelitte radio (XM), but if my TV cuts out in storms nearly as bad, than I will never switch to satTV... TWC service is just plain terrible. I rarely get 1080p from twc and when I do, it gets sooo digitized, it's not even funny.

Anyone got exp or thoughts on this?:popc1:

TWC pisses my off as well but I have the bundle TV, phone, & roadrunner. We recently got AT&T bundle in the hood and it is cheaper-----my neighbors love their satellite set up mainly because of the sports.

DireTV has Pissed me off and I have been with them for 10 Years. We are going to be changing over to local cable svc soon. The problem that I have with DirecTV is my DVR(the recorder) will work three or four times recording the race and then when it is suppose to record the next up coming race it screws up were I can't even watch the race. I have call them and my wife has called them over and over and over and they just tell me to reset my box. When you reset the box it deletes everthing in my save list. I even paying for the home repair svc and that covers any thing that goes WRONG they are suppose to find out if it is fix able by the customer and if not send a svc man out to fix or replace the system. They have not even try to do that. We are paying big $$$$$ for DireTV. Plus if something does go wrong with your DireTV box you might get a new one at the soones in 5days. My sister had to wait that long 2weeks ago from the lighting storm. Just my 2Cents about DireTV. Good luck

I had Direct TV when I was single and never had any problems with storms or anything. We now have TWC and I can't really afford to change because we have 6 or 7 tvs always on different channels so the extra boxes would break me.
Stupid hurts when it catches up, and it WILL catch up!

TTT.... Since Fox and TWC are "negotiating" like a couple 2 year olds.... Looks like tomorrow is the last day that I'll have (and any other TWC customer) any Fox network, including FX (no more SOA!) and SPEED! WTF?! Is fox really the bad guy that TWC is making them out to be, or does TWC just not want to pay what they're worth without passing on the extra cost to us customers?!

If you're not paying attention to this, both Fox and TWC are trying to spin this PR in their favor... It cracks me up, it's so pathetic! Funny part are Fox's ads on "Free" over-the-air networks, like during football games, stating that TWC is being unfair because they don't want to pay what Fox is worth.... Mind you that anyone watching these ads, are watching them on "FREE" over-the-air channels!

We'll see what happens Friday. I might be looking harder at DirecTV and Dish... As much as I love Fox news, I just can't live without my SOA on FX!

Just like the cell phone companys, if one of them provided great service cheap prices and made everyone happy the rest would go out of business! :twak:
The only one I liked was FTA( Free to Air ) using the Dishnetwork satellites to steal their programming. Its not working now, they re scrambled their data (N3). :error:
But getting 600+ channels on a USB Drive attached DVR was great. When it comes back up I'll be on it again.
Just a bunch of greed and bad management makes all of them suck! :banghead:
