Removing stock PS unit from stock location
#1
I'm getting ready to replace my stock PS unit. I looked at it last night and was wondering Catherine easiest way to take it out. I have a two inch body lift so may be it will slide out between the engine fender and frame OR will I need to remove the radiator and fan blade and slide it straight up?

Thx for the guidance, just wondering how you guys tackled it.
Matt

Not sure but I'd try to get the box out with the rad still in place first

If you have the stock pump, you may have to take the radiator out because the long bolt that goes through the pump can't come all the way out without taking the radiator out - PITA!

I was hoping I didnt have to do all that work but I guess I will. Might as well bust up my knuckles and swear a few times. Its a sacrifice if I want better steering. Thx guys!

Well, leave it to me to install a two piece radiator shroud and I hope to heck I dont have to remove the fan blade. Dont think for a moment I won't cut the inner fender! Hmmmmmm!

i dropped mine in from the top when i changed from manual steering to power steering and didnt have to remove radiator or fan.
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

Are we talking about the box or the pump? I was referring to the pump, but that all depends on what serpentine mount you are running on the pump. I think mine is a stock pump mount, but not 100% sure.
