So if you don't mind clay did you have to send them a core or pay a core charge? Also how much was the cost as evaluating how to handle the one I have that needs seals before I put it on.

I have an old 76-77 gear box I bought from Bart a few years ago. Can I send it to AGR for a rebuild? Can they do what they did to yours? I pd $200 on my last rebuild, if AGR can rebuild mine for $300 like yours I'm game. I feel like I'm missing something though.

You're missing the part where clay installs it and it falls apart. Perhaps we should let him be the Guinea pig before everyone hops on board.

My box will probably arrive at AGR tomorrow. Getting a rebuild and probably going to get them to upgrade it from a 6 turn box to 4 turn. I will keep you guys posted.

Getting a box converted from a 6 turn to a 4 turn does nothing for the ratio. It simply changes the amount of travel the box can deliver. It is done by changing out the cap at the front end of the box and putting a spacer in the input end of the box to limit the number of turns the box can make. So unless you are having trouble with tires scrubbing the frame it will make no difference. Simply put it just limits the amount of travel of the pitman shaft/arm. I am totally satisfied with the job CJR did on mine. 220$ labor and a 30 something dollar rebuild kit unless like me you have a bad part that has to be replaced.

I will have to double check the receipt but it was around 700. That was for new modified box my choice of # of turns this one was 3.25 turns with a matching spool valve. They also ported it for hydro assist. It also has the billet front caps and top plate that they put on there regular box rebuilds. So it was only 80 to 100 more than my previous $650 rebuild, with four turn conversion, replacement used sector shaft and ported for hydro assist.
