Thank ya'll for the compliments - they definitely help keep me motivated!
Tonight I introduced Mr. Jigsaw to the floor
I am trying to minimize my body lift and the fuel cell was my limiting factor. Looking back, I wish I had chosen a smaller capacity fuel cell - maybe 12 gallon (got a 16 gal) - to eliminate these space issues. The fuel cell has been one of the biggest PITA since I got it from cutting out my first modified cross-member, making a skid plate/mount that I trusted, and now making me run more body lift than I would have to without it. Not to mention I still have to figure out a custom filler neck when I add a tool box to cover my new holes. cratchhe:Too late now - not changing it :error:. If I were to change it now I'm afraid I'd switch to propane and open a whole different can of worms
I ended up cutting a section out for my AN fittings and was able to gain an extra inch. I'm down to a 2" BL - combo of WH 1" body mounts and a 1" puck.
While I was at it I cut a hole above the filler door. I went ahead and cut it 6" diameter so I'll have room to work on things (sending unit etc.) without dropping the tank. I'm hoping to run a 45 deg. adapter that will neck through a tool box and I'll fill it up from the face of the tool box.
So much for my pretty floor :uhoh3:
