Well after the meeting tonight I had an idea. For those who don't know I cleaned all the gears off the distributor the other day. I have a roller motor and had a cast iron distributor gear. So I wondered what Ford used on their 85 mustang for a distribtor? They were carbed and also were roller. And I wondered if they still used that big damn ugly thing they call a ignition control module that I replace every year. They DID! So, 50$ for a reman distributor with a "steel" gear and I'm riding again!! Well till something else craps out. Oh these only came on cars with a manual transmission. If anyone can let me know why I would appreciate it. Auto cars had the cast iron gear. I would't think Ford switched cam makes from one to another just because of the transmissions sake. Can someone clarify?
