The reciprocity laws are funny. I'm permitted in NC and know NC's laws. But when I carry in another state, I must know and abide by their laws. It's up to the permit holder to look up the laws and follow them accordingly.
For instance, I know that in NC with my permit I can conceal my handgun in the console, under the seat, on my person, or I can openly display on the dash if I want. But SC, I believe, I can only conceal on my person in my vehicle, not under the seat or in the console. SC also doesn't like open display in a vehicle.
When you get into reading laws and statues thing can get fuzzy with all the may's and shall's.
