I just finished up with my wife's uncle's '73 Nova SS. He has owned it since it was new. But a while back he let it get a bit low on oil and locked up the engine on his way to church. So my brother in law and I pulled it out and rebuilt it. We bored it .030 with flat top pistons, 284 Elgin cam, Edelbrock intake, and Holley 600. I also detailed the entire engine bay and engine. He also wanted to add a little chrome so we install the breather and valve covers. I think it turned out well. The engine makes good power. By the way this is a factory 4spd car.
