well I know the last thing I wanna see is the axle walk out on me. is there a way around the whole speed sensor deal? I know its important but I dont want it to get in the way of my plans. Well in other words does it limit my options?

If you want your tranny to shift and think that's important, then, well, your options are limited. If you've got VSS, there's no way around it. VSS can be adapted to non-VSS axles, but it takes some work. I know there's a company that makes a VSS that can be attached at the transfer case so you can throw any axle under there and it will work.
