The first was an injector failure. Half of the tip broke off. Mechanic blamed me for putting a chip on it.
Chip my hind-end! I've had a Hypertech chip in my 7.3 ever since the warranty went out on it. I don't do anything with it but pull my Park Model Camper up and down the highway. The camper empty weighs in at 14,500 lbs. and the 7.3 laughs at it as I go up hills, thanks in no small part to my chip set on tow . My opinion( for what that is worth) is you need a different mechanic, not a different engine. The 7.3 is the most bullet proof engine ever built!! My $.02 worth!! :xyxthumbs:
