Overhead console fix
#1
For those who haven't seen this...

I had the overhead display go out on me lately... After some searching, it seems like this is a common Ford problem... Figured I'd give it a try and post up my pics...

Step 1: Remove the one (1) screw from them Sunglasses holder
Step 2: Pull straight down on console. It'll come down pretty easy, but keep it supported after it's down.
Step 3: Find the display controller (mine was a little "black box")
Step 4: Remove and open the controller (four easy tabs on each side of the box)
Step 5: Find the resistors in the center (labelled 620 and 680).
Step 6: Reattach the separated resistors (Just the two center resistors were disconnected from my controller, but check them all)
Step 6b: For those of us not so talented/patient with a soldering pen, superglue works AWESOME! (we'll see how long it takes before it dries out and I have to repeat 1-6 above)
Step 7: Test display by plugging the harness back into the controller and verify that it's working.
Step 8: If Step 7 proves true, then Reverse steps 1-6 above and reinstall...

BTW, this was on my '05 PSD Excursion
