good deal. was hoping you would find the answer. do you have 12V running to the coil? if it is an OEM style coil and you have an aftermarket wiring harness or modified the original harness, you need a ballast resistor to drop it down to about 6V. Ford wiring somehow did a trick where they didn't need a resistor, but it still dropped voltage down for the coil. I can't recall how they did it. 12V will burn up coils rather quickly.
