They are angled to driver but my yellow top optima is toastado and reading about 10v. old girl has served me well for about 8 years though.
Turns out I have been over cooling my transmission for about a year seeing as I ALWAYS have the fan running on the cooler. The trans takes about 15 miles to actually get to 185 degrees and likes to chill around 200 +/- as a normal operating temp. Installing the thermostat and gauge was definitely a good idea.
